Weddings Turn To The Dark Side
Weddings have taken a somber turn of late with the introduction of Vera Wang’s black, gothic, wedding dresses. With fantasy tales of vampires and werewolves brought into the mainstream with the help of Twilight and True Blood, it seems that fashion has turned to the dark side too especially with this season’s fetish trend.

This black wedding dress by Vera Wang, made for her ‘Witchcraft’ collection, has a mystical edge to it. Featuring a fitted bodice and layered skirt this gown has an obscure effect on the mind – a morbid palette associated with funerals for a supposedly joyous occasion? Perhaps this could be evened out if the groom was to wear white?
Although most will opt for the original traditions of a white wedding others, may see the black gowns as a refreshing change. Whilst it’s uncertain as to whether this high fashion statement will eventually meet the mainstream, one thing is for sure, in a black gown EVERYONE will be guaranteed to be talking about the bride!
