First registered as a company in 1856 by Henry Lee Norris, Hunter Footwear has prospered from a small Scottish company who first appealed to the British public, into a universal institution that encompasses the constant developing trends in fashion and society. The brand’s catalogue of products, displays their noble heritage which has shepherded their items into becoming “a symbol of British country life”.
Having given assistance and contributed to both World Wars by “supplying vast quantities of wellingtons and thigh boots” to the troops, Hunter found that there was a significant rise in demand after the realisation that the fashion accessory could actually be used as an effective and utilitarian necessity. In 1977, as a reward for the unfaltering service rendered to the British monarch and the Royal household; Hunter was awarded a Royal Warrant by HRH ‘The Duke of Edinburgh’, which was followed by Her Majesty ‘The Queen’ presenting the same award in 1986. 2006 saw the company faced with financial difficulties which almost terminated the brand’s production base in the UK. Thankfully, discussions led to the relocation of the headquarters to Edinburgh in 2008, meaning that Hunter Footwear were free once more to continue “[...] keeping some very important feet dry!”
Daniel Footwear is delighted to be an official stockist of Hunter Boots. Our range includes various designs that are all guaranteed to keep your feet warm and dry from the grisly weather.
