Founded in 1941, the brand took off and gained recognition in the 1960s with Miles and Lillian Cahn, when in ‘61 they introduced a leather tote bag. Fast-forward one year later, and the Cahn's employed the American designer Bonnie Cashin to work for the company.

Cashin would later design what would become Coach’s trademark, a brass turn-key on the front of their bags. This synonymous feature would follow the brand as they transformed into conquerors of the luxury bags and accessories market, offering customers products of exceptional quality that were also extremely durable and stylish.
